Cholesterol

Cholesterol

Bad Cholesterol is a major factor of heart diseases; it is quite difficult to lower the bad cholesterol from the blood. I had high total cholesterol due to bad eating habit and it took almost ten yours to bring under normal level. There are several medications available, in my case medications did not help that much so I stopped taking it. There are two steps to lower the Cholesterol level, first diet and another one is exercises. You need to concentrate in both otherwise it won’t help.

Diet:
Breakfast-
you need to mix healthy cereals like Cheerios, Grahams and Kashi Go Lean in a jar. Eat cereal with fat free milk three to four times in a week. If cereal is not good enough to keep you until lunch time, eat one healthy snack bar-contains nuts and almonds. Also you can have scrambled egg/toasted bread once in a week. You can have different breakfast for the remaining two days.
Lunch-
You need to make a sandwich contains Turkey, fat free ham, fat free cheese, chicken, Lettuce and some vegetable leaves. Also eat some fruits except banana with the sandwitch, low fat yogurt mixed with blackberry or strawberry also needed. You need to eat sandwich as lunch for four days in a week. You can have different food remaining three days of the week; make sure it is non greasy or no fat food.

Dinner-

You can have heavy or mild dinner every day; make sure it is more balanced food. It is better to lower the amount of food, add more fruits or salads in the menu.

Drinking 2 glasses of spring water every day is recommended.

Exercise:

You need to spend at least one hour of exercises using elliptical, thread mills, rowing machine and bike riding. If you are carrying a pedometer, you should make 6000-8000 steps in a day. You need to spend at least 5 days per week for exercises.
If you follow the diet and exercise for a year, your Cholesterol level will be decreased to a comfortable range.
